Celtic uncatchable as BBC pundit tells Rangers and Aberdeen 'the league is done'

Celtic trounced Hearts 4-1 last night to go top of the league and some pundits think it's game over for the chasing pack.

It's been a lot more stop that start at Ibrox so far this season, with plenty of fans fed up with the lacklustre performances and dismissal results and Aberdeen's terrific season so far has only exemplified how far off the pace the Light Blues are. However, after both the Gers and the Dons dropped points on Saturday, and Celtic took full advantage to go three clear of Jimmy Thelin's side and a whopping 11 ahead of Philippe Clement's, some reckon that is the title race definitely over.

Given the gap Brendan Rodgers' side now have between themselves and their city rivals and with Aberdeen faltering at St Mirren, it's not too far a stretch to say it's wrapped up now in the Scottish Premiership. Former Hearts and St Johnstone player Alan Preston has emphatically declared this to be the case. While the Dons are only three points back, Celtic's imperious form suggests their lead is now unassailable.

Speaking on BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound in the aftermath of Celtic's stellar win thanks to an improved second-half display, Preston said it's all sewn up at the top of the table,

"We do not have a league title challenge. Aberdeen are now three points behind and they will not catch Celtic now.

"Rangers are miles away, they are eleven points behind now. The league is done. Celtic are miles and miles ahead."
