Willie Collum will take charge of this weekend's Old Firm title showdown at Parkhead.

The SFA have confirmed today that the experienced whistler will be the man in the middle when Rangers visit Celtic Park in Saturday's 12:30pm kick-off. Collum will be assisted by David McGeachie and Ross Macleod, with Don Robertson named as the fourth official. Steven McLean will be on VAR duties from Clydesdale House alongside assistant Graeme Stewart.

It's the tenth Glasgow derby Collum will have officiated since making his debut in the fixture way back in 2010/11 when Rangers won 3-1 at Parkhead. He last took charge of Scotland's showpiece clash when Ange Postecoglou's side ran out 2-1 winners at Ibrox in 2022.

It's also just the second time he has been appointed referee of a fixture involving Rangers since the Ibrox club called on the SFA to ban Collum from all of their future games in the wake of December's 2-1 defeat at Celtic Park. Collum was on VAR that day but infuriated Gers chiefs by refusing to penalised Alistiar Johnston for a handball - despite Abdallah Sima being in an offside position anyway.

Hampden chiefs stood by their man, though, and Collum was soon back at Ibrox to referee Rangers' Scottish Cup clash with Scott Brown's Ayr United on Feburary 10. Now, he's set to be under the spotlight again for the biggest fixture of the season.

A win for Celtic would virtually see them crowned champions as Brendan Rodgers would move six points clear of their bitter rivals with just two games left to play. But a victory for Rangers would breathe fresh life into Philippe Clement's dreams of winning an unlikely Treble - and guarantee a final day title finale.
