Nick Walsh will take charge of next week's Old Firm Scottish Cup Final at Hampden.

The whistler has been named as the man of the middle as holders Celtic take on Rangers in the 3pm kick-off on Saturday May 25. Calum Spence and David Roome will run the lines, while Steven McLean has been appointed as the fourth official. John Beaton will likely have his work cut out at Clydesdale House as he oversees VAR alongside assistant David McGeachie.

It's the fourth Glasgow derby Walsh has been tasked with handling and the second time he's managed the powderkeg fixture this season. Walsh was also in the spotlight for Celtic's 2-1 win over their bitter rivals in December, while he also took charge of the Hoops' 1-0 Viaplay Cup Final against the Ibrox side last season.

It promises to be a titanic occasion at Hampden as the Glasgow giants lock horns for the first time in the Scottish Cup Final since 2002. Champions-elect Celtic will go into the game with the bragging rights as Brendan Rodgers' side are on the brink of securing three-in-a-row.

The Hoops require just one point from their remaining two league games and can be crowned title winners should they avoid defeat at Rugby Park tonight. Celts will then get their hands on the Premiership trophy before turning their attention to defending their Scottish Cup trophy.

Both clubs will be competing for a Double as Philippe Clement's side lifted the Viaplay Cup at the end of 2023, beating Aberdeen in the final.
