Celtic WIN Premiership title as Kilmarnock rout secures three-in-a-row and sees off Rangers challenge

Celtic are champions after dismantling Kilmarnock this evening.

The Hoops officially were crowned title winners at Rugby Park as they battered their hosts 5-0 in an all-out attacking masterclass from Brendan Rodgers' side. The manager insisted earlier this week and again before kick-off this evening that he didn't want his players to cross the finish line slowly but, instead, at a sprint, and that's exactly what he got.

Adam Idah, in from the start ahead of Kyogo, tapped home the opener early doors before Daizen Maeda got in on the act with a similar strike to go 2-0 in front.

It was 3-0 before the break when James Forrest added his name to the scoresheet and the visitors were on easy street to make it three-in-a-row.

Matt O'Riley added one after the break with a trademark strike from the edge of the box. Shortly after that, Danny Armstrong thought he'd pulled one back with a decent strike but it was ruled out for offside after a VAR check. O'Riley added his second and Celtic's fifth as the punishment continued for the hosts.

Celtic knew even a point would see them mathematically declared champions after their 2-1 derby day win over Rangers last weekend in front of 60,000 Hoops supporters.
