Charlie Miller pinpoints major Rangers concern as he lambasts Ibrox identity crisis
Charlie Miller says Rangers are missing a Scottish identity as he lambasted the lack of homegrown talent at Ibrox.
The nine-in-a-row legend has been left sickened by the state of his beloved club in recent years as the Ibrox side plunge from one crisis to another. Just two Scots were in Philippe Clement's starting line-up for Sunday's comeback win over Motherwell at Hampden - John Souttar and Connor Barron.
And Miller insists Gers must add more Scottish talent to the core of his team and learn from the mistakes of previous years. He said: "There aren't enough Scottish players in the team. There really isn't. You've got Souttar and Barron, and he's just come in as a young kid. I hope he goes on and does very well, but we need the nucleus to know what the club is about.

"When I was at Ibrox the spine of the team was probably six or seven Scottish players starting every week. Not just Scottish, but Glaswegians as well. The guys that supported the club growing up knew exactly what Rangers meant. That's a big miss now. We're also not signing the best players in Scotland.
"We've missed out on so many of the big Scottish players in the last few years - Lewis Ferguson, Josh Doig, Aaron Hickey and further back, Andy Robertson. There's probably more than that. I just don't know who's watching these guys we are signing, I really don't."
