Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson makes drastic decision before Aston Villa clash

Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson has made a significant change to his appearance before Saturday's Premier League clash against Aston Villa. The Senegal international, signed last summer, has scored 13 goals from 38 appearances during his debut season at Stamford Bridge, but he has faced significant criticism in recent weeks.

Against Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final and four days later in a London Derby with Arsenal, Jackson was guilty of missing numerous chances. However, the Blues are short for options in attack with 22-year-old required to play 90 minutes in seven of his last eight league appearances.

Two defeats in four days without scoring leaves Chelsea and Mauricio Pochettino, for that matter, in a difficult position especially with another tough clash on the horizon. Ahead of the game at Villa Park, Pochettino discussed what he wants to see from his players on Saturday evening.

"We were talking a lot – today we had a meeting and we tried to realise how we need to behave when the game is tough, when the demands are so high," he admitted in a press conference. "We need to be more strong, to really trust in the way we play, our philosophy, the way we prepare the games and everything to follow. And to have the discipline.

"After the game, I said we cannot blame the players. The circumstances we are living. We need to be positive, be strong and believe tomorrow we can do a good game, a good attitude, a good approach and go there to compete."

Alongside Pochettino's admission ahead of Chelsea's next game, Jackson has been spotted with a brand new look in Chelsea training. Over the last few weeks, Jackson has been seen with a blue strand in his black hair but that has now vanished, with the forward captured with barely any hair remaining on his head.

Jackson's personal target for the season is to score 15 goals and he will therefore be hoping to repeat his achievement from earlier in the season at Villa Park. Jackson, Conor Gallagher and Enzo Fernandez were all on target in a 3-1 FA Cup replay triumph in the Midlands earlier this year.
