Chido Obi-Martin justifies wonderkid tag with stunning 14-minute hat-trick on Man United U18 debut
Summer signing Chido Obi-Martin marked his full debut for Manchester United's Under-18s by scoring a hat-trick within the first 15 minutes against Nottingham Forest at Carrington on Saturday lunchtime.
Fresh from a 27-minute cameo appearance against Sunderland last weekend, the former Arsenal youngster, who finalised a move to Old Trafford last month, was rewarded with his maiden start for Adam Lawrence's team.
The 16-year-old wasted no time in justifying his inclusion, putting United ahead with just 13 seconds on the clock, pouncing on an under-hit back pass, rounding Forest goalkeeper Keehan Willows and tapping into an empty net.

For his second, just four minutes later, the striker, who was donning the No.9 shirt, drilled home a low effort into the bottom corner after a cross from the right flank failed wasn't cleared by the visitors. The ball landed kindly at Obi-Martin's feet, he took a touch to set himself and doubled his tally.
He completed his hat-trick just 14 minutes in, firing home a first-time shot from a central position inside the box after meeting a low cross from James Scanlon. The latter got the better of his marker, advanced towards the byline and cut the ball back for the Dane, who made no mistake to complete his treble.
A few minutes later, Obi Martin had a golden opportunity to score his and United's fourth of the game, but his effort was straight at the goalkeeper, who gathered it comfortably.
United added to their tally shortly before half-time, first scoring a fourth via Scanlon, who ventured inside, motored forward and pulled the trigger, finding the net from the edge of the penalty area, before Amir Ibragimov bundled the ball home from close range for a fifth.
Obi-Martin was withdrawn at half-time, meaning he stored 45 minutes under his belt. He was replaced by Victor Musa.
United added one more goal to their collection in the second half, scoring a sixth via a brilliant free-kick from Jim Thwaites in the closing stages.
