Chris Sutton Celtic vs Rangers trophy troll leaves Kris Boyd reeling as Sky host forced to step in

Chris Sutton has told Kris Boyd to "give it a year" before Celtic equal Rangers' record of 55 titles.

The Hoops idol couldn't resist a cheeky pop as he appeared as a pundit in Sky's studio ahead of Dundee's clash at Ibrox. Sitting alongside sidekick Boyd, James McFadden and host Eilidh Barbour, the panel pored over another disappointing season for Gers after Saturday's Old Firm defeat at Parkhead ended their title dreams for another year.

Fed-up Boyd called on Philippe Clement to clear out the Light Blues' squad as Celts moved within a point of their 12th title in 13 years. The Rangers legend bemoaned: "This club is built on winning league championships and they are going to have to get back to that."

But Sutton quickly sensed an opportunity as he chimed in: "Not in recent times." The jibe hit a nerve with Boyd who was clearly unimpressed as he retorted: "But it has. Still won the most."

However, it was Sutton who got the last word in as he smirked: "Give it a year." Sutton's taunt left middleman McFadden with the giggles before Sky host Barbour was forced to step in, saying: "You two, behave yourself!"

Football Scotland told yesterday how Celts could shatter THREE Rangers records this season - IF they win next week's Scottish Cup Final at Hampden.

Brendan Rodgers' side require just a point from their final two league games to wrap up three-in-a-row. The champions-elect have an opportunity to get the job done tomorrow night when they face Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.
