Coen Devillier surpasses 200th-career strike out mark

Apr. 22—Coen Devillier reach a significant mark in the Jacksonville Indians' game against Madisonville early last week.

Not only did the senior toss a 1-hitter against the playoff-bound Mustangs, but he surpassed the 200th-career strike out mark as an Indian. He currently has 203 punch outs.

Devillier signed a scholarship offer with Catholic University of America (Washington, DC) earlier this year and is looking forward to continuing his baseball activities at the collegiate level, following graduation next month.

The Cardinals are currently ranked in the top 30 in NCAA Division III.

He is only the second Jacksonville pitcher in the last decade to sign to play college baseball.

Deviller and the rest of the Indians will wrap up the regular season by traveling to Rusk Tuesday night. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Devillier is the son of Chad and Cassie Devillier.
