It’s back to Premier League action for Chelsea this afternoon (Sunday) as they take on Arsenal at Stamford Bridge (4.30pm kick-off).

Enzo Maresca’s side will look to pour the misery on their London rivals, who are winless in their last three Premier League games. In their last outing in the league the Gunners fell to a 1-0 defeat against Newcastle.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have had a positive start to the season under Maresca. The Blues drew 1-1 with Manchester United in their last league outing, and a changed team beat Armenian side FC Noah 8-0 in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday night, with most of the main players watching from the stands.

Chelsea are currently above Arsenal in the Premier League table on goal difference. A win would therefore open up a three point gap and move them into the top four positions.

Ahead of the game, we’ve taken a look at a couple of the latest Chelsea stories and given our own thoughts,

Cole Palmer effect

Cole Palmer’s impact at Chelsea is now being felt across sports, with his celebration used during England’s rugby match against Australia.

After scoring a try England man Chandler Cunningham-South duly celebrated by wrapping his arms around his body and acting like he was cold. It’s now effectively known as the ‘Cold Palmer’ celebration.

Chelsea fans will be hoping to see the celebration again less than 24 hours later. The Blues are however sweating on the fitness of the talisman for the Premier League clash against Arsenal.

FL says : The celebration is catching. There is some debate between Palmer and fellow Premier League man Morgan Rogers as to who started the celebration, but the Chelsea man has certainly claimed it as his own now.

The fact that the celebration is now being used across sports shows the impact that he has had at Chelsea since moving from Man City last summer.

Chelsea man ‘can do more’

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola has admitted that Chelsea loanee Kepa Arrizabalaga could have done better with Brentford’s second goal as his team fell to defeat. The Cherries fell to a 3-2 loss against the Bees on Saturday afternoon.

The game saw Kepa brought back into the lineup after returning from injury, despite his deputy Mark Travers, impressing with his performances. The match saw Kepa beaten at his near post as well as struggle in the air from set pieces.

Speaking after the game, Iraola said: “I think we've had great results with him this season. I think he got injured, Travs [Travers] has been playing very, very well in the two games that he has played.

“And for me, we could argue with the second goal, you asked me, probably for the second goal, he can do more. But he was dealing well with the game.”

FL says : Kepa doesn’t look to have a future at Chelsea, but they will be hoping that he performs well so that clubs show an interest at the end of the season. It is reported that the goalkeeper has a £5million release clause that will become active at the end of the season.

If the Spanish international can avoid too many similar mistakes, then Chelsea will at least make some money from a potential sale - but further comments like Iraola's recent ones will quickly see his spell on the south coast turn into a nightmare.
