The rise of Conor Bradley within the last 12 months looks set to continue after the young full-back lauded his new manager Arne Slot.

Bradley broke into the Liverpool first-team last season as he deputized for the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold and his performances have left him at the forefront of Slot’s plans despite the England superstar retaining his place at right-back.

The 21-year-old has found minutes hard to come by this season with him yet to start any of Liverpool’s games so far this campaign. However, Bradley remains positive about his new manager and even lauded Slot for their work together on the training ground.

Bradley spoke to the club’s media where he was asked how he has found it working under Slot and his coaching staff. “It’s been really good. I think they’ve improved me a lot,” Bradley said. “Obviously we do lots of individual meetings and things like that so it’s been really good.

“I’ve really enjoyed it and it’s been a good start to the season but there is still loads to improve on for, I think, the whole team. So, we’ve just got to keep going and keep improving.”

Bradley continued to touch on the work that he’s been doing with Slot on the training pitch. “Loads of different things. Obviously the runs I make into the final third from right-back, things like my defending and stuff like that as well, so just every part of my game [and] trying to make me overall a better player. So, I’ve really enjoyed working under him and it’s been a really good start,” he added.

The Northern Irishman has noticed improvements in training

Despite the high praise he’s given his new boss, Bradley is yet to start under Slot having come off the bench in four of the Reds opening five Premier League fixtures and he remained an unused substitute against AC Milan in the Champions League. But perhaps Slot’s work behind-the-scenes with the Northern Irishman will see him giving his chance from the off tonight.

Liverpool hosts West Ham United in the third round of the League Cup, with Slot expected to ring the changes in his first competitive opportunity to hand chances to a number of the Reds’ players who have found themselves on the fringe of the squad early on in the season. Bradley is likely to start ahead of Trent Alexander-Arnold who could be rested from cup action.

With Alexander-Arnold’s future still uncertain at Liverpool due to his contract expiring at the end of the season and no extension agreement in place as of yet, keeping Bradley around the first-team picture and continuing to mold him on the training pitch could leave Slot with an immediate replacement if the 25-year-old is to move elsewhere.
