Curtis Jones doubles down on Arne Slot and Jurgen Klopp opinion - 'It suits me more'
Curtis Jones has reasserted that he feels more suited playing under Arne Slot at Liverpool rather than Jurgen Klopp.
The midfielder has enjoyed a fine start to the season, having forced himself into what seemed like a settled engine room early on in the campaign. Having returned from injury, Jones has one goal and three assists in his last six appearances for Liverpool, helping them to the top of the Premier League and the Champions League.
His form has led to another England call-up for the final international break of the year, and he could be in line to finally make his senior international debut against Greece on Thursday. Speaking ahead of that game, Jones has again spoken about the differences between Slot and Klopp, and how the former’s style has led to him being on the verge of making his Three Lions debut.

Jones raised some eyebrows during the summer when he compared the two and insisted he was at his ‘happiest’ following Slot’s arrival. The 23-year-old though has now doubled down on those comments.
“I feel that I'm at the point now where I'm enjoying it the most that I have. I say that in terms of style of play that suits me and the love that I'm getting from the coaches and the staff all around,” Jones said (via the Mirror).
“Arne and his staff have come in and the style of play and everything is changing - the way we go and press and stuff. I think it suits me more. As a fresh start, I'll give it everything I can.
“I’m really enjoying it and the most important thing is that I'm playing with a smile on my face.”
With his reputation at Liverpool growing under Slot, Jones’ focus now turns to making an impact on the international stage. England play their final Nations League games of the year against Greece and the Republic of Ireland over the coming days, with the midfielder looking to make the most of his opportunity after a number of high-profile dropouts from the squad.
“I will approach the game trying to prove to everybody that I'm the player that they say I am, and the player that I've always been since I was a kid,” he added. “I think this call-up is huge.
“I’ve played Champions League games, Premier League games. It’s exactly the same there - stadiums are packed, they’re loud, intense games, quick games, important games.
“My approach is just exactly the same. I go there, try and be me. I just try to play free with a free mind, try not to overthink anything.
“We go there needing to win and hopefully I’ll get my first cap, and hopefully I can be part of an important win.”
