Daizen Maeda clueless to Celtic yellow card after fan celebration in Rangers win

Daizen Maeda has revealed he was clueless that he'd be booked for celebrating with the Celtic fans after a goal against Rangers this afternoon.

The Japanese attacker burst down the left-flank and provided the cutback for John Lundstram to prod the ball into his own goal to give the Hoops a two goal lead at Parkhead. After watching the ball hit the net, Maeda turned and ran towards the home support and jumped towards the punters, leaping into a steward's arms before cuddling with delirious fans.

The player had no idea he'd be shown a yellow card for his celebration by referee Willie Collum, which did then happen, but after their 2-1 win to edge closer to the title, Maeda wasn't too fussed.

Sharing a picture of the scenes on his social media, the 26-year-old wrote: "I didn't know that if you go up to the fans you get a yellow card! Oh well!"

Maeda's contribution added to Matt O'Riley's earlier strike to open the scoring and came a few moments before an unlikely route back into the game was provided by Cyriel Dessers.

Lundstram would then be sent off for a high tackle on Alistair Johnston before O'Riley would then miss a penalty in the second-half.
