Todd Cantwell dusted down his Rangers celebration that landed him in hot water with Philippe Clement.

The former Light Blues playmaker broke the deadlock for Blackburn Rovers in their clash with Leeds United from the penalty spot before pulling out a familiar celebration to mark his first goal for his new employers. The midfielder - who has got off to a flying start at Ewood Park - put his effort into the bottom right corner out of the reach of Illan Meslier, who dived the correct way.

Back in November last year, Cantwell and Danilo scored early goals as Rangers raced into a two goal lead in the Europa League against Sparta Prague.

The match would go on and finish 2-1 in the favour of the Light Blues but Clement gave the duo the short shrift over over-extending their celebrations after two goals in the opening 20 minutes.

Speaking at the time, the Belgian said: "I want the players to be happy and feel the joy and energy with the fans and that they express their feelings. I want them to stay focused also.

"I knew that in that moment the game wasn't finished yet so I don't want players who switch off and stay satisfied. That can come after the game. The moment the referee whistles again we need to have top focus and I want a team who goes for the third goal and after the third goal goes for the fourth goal and not to stop after 2-0."
