Daniel Farke sent stark Leeds United rotation message but key pair continue to shine
The demands of the Championship season means squad rotation is inevitable, with those sides with the strongest alternative options often dominating the division.
Leeds United are no different, of course, with Daniel Farke having quality in reserve to call upon when needed. Any side would struggle without two key midfielders, but Leeds have been able to cope admirably without Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev after both picked up long-term injuries.
Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell have been excellent in their absence, and continued to impress in Saturday's 2-0 victory over QPR. The quality of their performance was reflected in our fans' player ratings from the game, with the midfield pair catching the eye of the Elland Road faithful.

Japan international Tanaka was the joint highest rated, along with goalscorer Jayden Boyle, as we asked you to the mark the players following the win. Tanaka and Bogle average a score of 7.4, with Rothwell just behind on 6.9, along with central defenders Joe Rodon (6.8) and Pascal Struijk (6.7).
However, not all of Farke's changes have been received so well. Following the defeat at Millwall in midweek, the Leeds boss opted to rotate his forward options, with Mateo Joseph and Manor Solomon given starts. Both failed to impress fans, however, with the low average scores from our rartings. Joel Piroe replaced Joseph after 72 minutes and it was his goal in added time which secured the three points.
