Daniel Kelly 'rejects' Celtic contract offer with just months remaining on current deal

Daniel Kelly has reportedly knocked back a contract offer from Celtic.

The 18-year-old Hoops academy product has made it to the fringes of the first team this season and has four Premiership appearances to his name as well as two in the cup. He even has a goal to show for it, scoring on his league debut which was a 7-1 thrashing of Dundee.

His current deal runs out on December 31 of this year and any interested clubs would be able to open talks with him over a potential pre-contract in the summer. It was reported months ago that talks were underway between Celts chiefs and their player with a view to a four-year deal being signed.

But Kelly has now REJECTED an initial offer, reports Sky Sports News.

The report adds that both parties remain keen to get a new contract sorted out and talks are ongoing.
