Arsenal star David Raya has outlined the plans to celebrate if the Gunners claim a famous win over Liverpool once again. Sunday afternoon will see Arsenal host the Merseysiders at the Emirates Stadium in a top-of-the-table clash in the Premier League (4.30pm).

Mikel Arteta's side are four points behind Liverpool in the Premier League table and six behind leaders Manchester City after Pep Guardiola's side claimed a 1-0 win over Southampton on Saturday afternoon.

Raya has spoken about the importance that three points against Liverpool would mean for Arsenal in the title race, and admitted that there could be similar celebrations to last season if the Gunners were to claim a victory.

Arsenal won 3-1 against Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium in February last season, sparking euphoric celebrations on the pitch with players and staff - including Martin Odegaard taking over camera duties from club photographer Stuart MacFarlane.

"Every win in the Premier League is important, and I think we should celebrate every win the same," Raya told The Mirror. "Of course, when we played them in the second half of last season, it was a massive three points for us and obviously that emotion for everybody to win against Liverpool is important and is also incredible.

"If we win on Sunday, it's going to be the same emotions and same celebrations.

"They're a top team. They've got a new manager and I think they've increased their level. They are very dangerous, they are going to come here for three points and we have to be ready for that."

The celebrations from Arsenal following the win over Liverpool last season were criticised in some sections of the media. Anfield legend Jamie Carragher was critical of the enthusiastic nature of the celebrations from the Gunners players after the full-time whistle last term.

"Arsenal deserved the win, Liverpool were so far off," Carragher said on commentary after the Gunners' win over the Merseyside club in February. They played poorly and that's not something we've seen of them of late. They've got three or four matches until they play Manchester City - that'll be a massive test of their nerve now.

"Just get down the tunnel! You've won a big game, you've got the three points, you're back in the title race... just get down the tunnel. I'm being serious, honestly."
