Tottenham's Dejan Kulusevski is already setting his sights on next season after Spurs secured a fifth-place finish in the Premier League with a convincing 3-0 victory over Sheffield United. The win, which featured a brace from Kulusevski and a goal from Pedro Porro, ensured Europa League football for the north London side.

Reflecting on a season of transition without Harry Kane, Kulusevski spoke to SpursPlay about the team's development under Ange Postecoglou. He said: "The team performance has been good, we improved a lot. We wanted more and we were close to getting more but sometimes you have to accept life and keep working and believing in what you are doing.

“We started from zero, we changed everything, everything about the club. It is not easy, even if the beginning was the easiest, it’s often like that, but I think next season with much more experience, we know what the coach wants, now we go away and rest and come back much hungrier and better.”

Postecoglou was full of praise for Kulusevski after the win in Sheffield, with the Swede performing impressively in the striker position. His two goals against Sheffield United mean the 24-year-old scored eight throughout the 2023/24 campaign, assisting a further three.

"I thought Deki was good," Postecoglou told reporters. "He's worked awfully hard this year without a lot of reward in the front third.

"We thought playing him through middle today would help us with his mobility and ability to run in behind. He did well. He always works hard but it's that sort of final third where we need him to get rewards and he got them today so he did well."
