'Delightful': Celtic star pictured at Glasgow restaurant ahead of Aberdeen clash

A Celtic star was pictured dining at a popular Glasgow restaurant ahead of the club's Aberdeen clash.

The Hoops comfortably earned their place in the Premier Sports Cup final next month with a 6-0 win against the Dons on Saturday.

Ahead of the fixture, a star player made sure to take some downtime and enjoy a delicious meal at a city centre Italian.

Arne Engels was spotted at La Lanterna on Hope Street earlier this week.

The staff, including chef Luca Conreno, said they 'loved' having the Belgian with them.

They said: "A delightful evening at La Lanterna with the wonderful Arne Engels!

"We hope you enjoyed every bite of your meal as much as we loved having you with us. Can't wait to welcome you back for another unforgettable dining experience!"

La Lanterna has been a restaurant of choice for some of Engels' teammates, including Daizen Maeda who was spotted there in August.

Meanwhile, other fans of the eatery include comedian Limmy and Wet Wet Wet singer Marti Pellow.
