Paul Warne says Kane Wilson is fit and in consideration for selection after having an injection in his knee ahead of Derby County’s trip to Coventry City.

Wilson missed Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Stoke City which led to Joe Ward playing at right-back. But the former Forest Green Rovers and Bristol City defender is fit to make the trip to face the Sky Blues tomorrow night.

Speaking ahead of the trip to the CBS Arena, Warne said: “Kane Wilson is fine. He had an injection in his knee last week and it has settled down really well. He says it feels the best it has ever felt, but he’s fine and he is in consideration for selection.”

Derby, however, will still be without David Ozoh, who has been out of action with a quad muscle injury sustained in his last session after recovering from a hamstring problem. Warne said he did not expect him back until after the international break.

“I think he will be closer after the international break but I don’t expect to see him for the first couple of games,” he said.

“I had a chat with the head physio and it’s only been two weeks since he damaged his quad. But because he has been out for six weeks prior to that it feels like he has been out for the season.

“It would nice to have him back in the fray. We’ll get to the other side of the international break, but I still think it’s going to be 10 days to two weeks after that.”
