Derby County are reportedly battling with Preston North End for Aris Limassol winger Jaden Montnor.

According to journalist Ekrem Konur, the Rams are keen on the left winger along with Greek giants Panathinaikos. Montnor is currently valued at around £600,000 and made five appearances in the Europa League last season featuring in games against Real Betis, Rangers and Sparta Prague.

Last summer, the 22-year-old joined Aris Limassol from Austrian side St. Pölten and has caught the eye with his performances having scored 15 goals and registering seven assists in 61 games.

Montnor is a Suriname international and has previously spoken of his desire to move to England and one day said he would like to play for Chelsea. Derby are keen to bolster their attack when the transfer window opens next month with Paul Warne eager to add more goals to the team.

Warne has not ruled out adding a winger to his squad having said he will look to adds goals whether it be a striker, a winger or a midfielder. A battle with Preston for a signing would be nothing new as the two clubs went head to head for Stefan Thordarson, a tussle which the Lilywhites won in the summer.

The news comes as Derby were linked with a move for Aston Villa talent Louie Barry who could be recalled by the Premier League club and sent out on loan to the Championship. Derby are said to be interested as well as Leeds and Middlesbrough.
