Derby County transfer news latest as Leeds United rival Rams and plan mapped out
Leeds United have reportedly entered the chase for Aston Villa talent Louie Barry amid ongoing speculation over the forward's next destination.
Derby County were linked with a move for Barry over the weekend with the club said to be keen on adding him to their attack when the window opens next month. Reports have suggested that Villa are contemplating sending him to the second tier to help further his development with Barry currently at Stockport where he has scored 15 goals this season.
Stockport boss Dave Challinor says the player's future is out of his hands with Barry showcasing his ability again last weekend with another goal against Exeter City. Middlesbrough are also said to be keen on the 21-year-old and it is now claimed by Teamtalk that Leeds would also like him to join their frontline as they chase promotion to the Premier League.

Derby are eager to bolster their attack when the window opens for business next month, but they will have to let players leave in order to bring them in. There are arguments to be made for Barry to join each of the sides. The Whites are sitting pretty in second and would provide an opportunity for Barry to make the best use of his skills, receiving more of the ball and being given more chances in-game.
However, there would be hotter competition for places and Villa may wish to send him somewhere like Derby where he is absolutely guaranteed minutes to aid his development.
Warne wants goals
Derby County head coach Paul Warne wants more goals in the team and says he may have to be creative when the transfer window opens next month. Warne is eager to bolster his attack and has already been linked with a move for Aston Villa talent Louie Barry who has scored 15 goals already this season.
Derby's top scorer is Jerry Yates who has four goals this season having joined the club on loan from Swansea in the summer. It is understood that Derby are exploring European options as well as domestic transfers and Warne says he wants more firepower wherever he can get it.
"As a manager you like to get the best player you could," he said. "If I was looking for a goalkeeper and I could buy one for two million or a £100m, you would sign the £100m one. We have a full squad so I know I am going to have to move players or assist in moving them to make room.
"We are like every team in that we will have to be creative. We start off with a budget at the start of the season as most clubs do. January is where you try to improve or make up for mistakes you made really I suppose. You have to be creative with your finance. We have put forward players of different financial costs and as always I respect what the ownership wants to do. Every club goes into January with injury problems, bad form or lack of something.
"Our squad is pretty well balanced. Everybody wants more goals. Whichever 11 I start, I don't think we have enough goals throughout the team so I would like to bring goals into it wherever I could."
