When does the Premier League season end? As Arsenal and Man City title race set to go to the wire

Another Premier League season is coming to an end as the 2023/24 campaign draws to what could be a dramatic conclusion.

There is still plenty to be sorted before the final whistle of the season is blown, with uncertainty remaining at both ends of the table. It has been another rollercoaster season for several clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham.

Arsenal currently sit one point above Man City in what is a thrilling title race that looks set to go down to the wire, adding to the drama and excitement of what could be a day to remember for those involved.

There’s now not too long to wait until that day comes around. Here is all you need to know about the ending to the 2023/24 campaign and looking ahead to another new season that is on the horizon.

When is the final day?

The final day of the 2024/25 Premier League season is on Sunday, 19 May 2024 with kick-off at 4pm UK time.

As is always the case all the games will kick off at the same time. This is to ensure sporting fairness when it comes to the final finishing positions.

What are the fixtures?

A full list of the final day fixtures can be found below:

Liverpool vs Wolves

Sheffield United vs Tottenham

Luton Town vs Fulham

Brighton vs Manchester United

Man City vs West Ham

Arsenal vs Everton

Brentford vs Newcastle

Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa

Burnley vs Nottingham Forest

Chelsea vs Bournemouth

What is on the line for clubs?

As it currently stands, where the Premier League trophy ends up looks likely to be decided on the final day. Mathematically, it’s between Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool, but realistically, Arsenal and Man City could take the fight to the final day.

Tottenham could be involved in a race for fourth place and the last Champions League spot on the final day, while Chelsea could also be in the race to finish in the European places.

Further down the table, Burnley and Luton Town are still hanging onto their Premier League status. The fight for survival with Nottingham Forest could yet go down to the final day with three points separating Luton in 18th and Forest in 17th.

When does the 2024/25 season start?

The new 2024/25 Premier League season starts on August 17, 2024, and will be concluded on May 25, 2025.

Two of the three promoted teams who will join from the Championship have already been confirmed with Leicester City and Ipswich Town promoted automatically. One of Leeds United, Southampton, West Brom and Norwich City will join them by winning the play-offs.

Sheffield United are the only team to officially be relegated so far. They will be joined in the Championship by two of Burnley, Luton Town and Nottingham Forest.
