'Doesn't make sense' - Rodri speaks out on potential Man City exit amid Real Madrid links
Rodri intends to see out his Manchester City contract - but refused to close the door on any club in the future. Including Real Madrid.
Rodri, 28, just won the Ballon d'Or due to his form at Manchester City until 2027. Real Madrid have made no secret of their desire to sign the Spaniard, with 'RODRI 2025' paraded on the front of Spanish newspapers earlier this year.
However, Real boycotted the Ballon d'Or ceremony when they learned Rodri would win over Vinicius Jr and made it clear they do not respect the result.

Rodri also signed for City from Real's rivals Atletico back in 2019, adding another complication to any ambitions of taking him to the Bernabeu.
For now, Rodri says he intends to honour his City contract and feels comfortable at the Etihad, yet also refused to rule out any future move or close any doors back to La Liga.
He told COPE: “I don’t know. Renewal with City is not my priority right now. I want to recover, and we’ll see… Sincerely, I like to live the present, I still have contract with my club, I’m very happy there, and since I’ve arrived to England, it felt like my home.
"However, in the end, closing or opening any door [on La Liga] doesn’t make any sense. I feel really passionate while watching the Spanish league, but the English one is special too. If anything were to force me to move, I’d have to think long and hard because I’m really comfortable there."
Rodri also noted that Pep Guardiola's decision on his own future will determine what he and other players do when coming to sign new contracts.
“There will be a before and after when Pep leaves City," he explained. "When I signed, I was told that he would leave the following year… and we are still like that five years later. He is very ambitious, and we will see. When he’s gone things will change, but Manchester City is still Manchester City."
