Double Tottenham team news hint emerges for Chelsea clash amid Ben Davies replacement clue

Ange Postecoglou has been dealt another two injury blows before his Tottenham side face Chelsea in Premier League action. Heading into last weekend's North London Derby against Arsenal, Destiny Udogie joined the injury list after picking up a quad injury in training, and now two more names have joined him.

"Unfortunately we've had a couple of issues from the game," the Spurs boss admitted on Wednesday. "Timo with his hamstring obviously so we've got two-and-a-half weeks to go so he'll miss the rest of the season. Ben Davies has got a calf injury and he's out of the game and he'll probably miss the rest of the season as well.

"Everyone else is ok. Skippy should be back for this game, out of the ones who have been out." Oliver Skipp returning is a boost but losing both Timo Werner and Davies is a major blow, especially with limited options now able to fill the latter's position.

With Radu Dragusin now as part of his squad, Postecoglou could opt to shift Micky van de Ven out to left-back, however there is a more likely outcome. In the absence of key defenders this season, Emerson Royal has often been trusted as the replacement and the player himself has hinted at that being the case again.

On Instagram, the Brazil international posted a pre-match graphic, an action usually done by a player set for a prominent role in the game they are promoting. Rodrigo Bentancur was another to do exactly that despite his half-time substitution against Arsenal.

Brennan Johnson came on for Werner during Sunday's defeat, but Postecoglou may opt to move Son Heung-min out wide with Richarlison back in the starting XI for the first time since mid-February.

"Yeah, he's working back to fitness. He's missed a fair bit so it was good to get him some game time. So whether that's tomorrow night or Sunday, obviously we've got three games this week, three big games, and I'm sure Richy will play a significant part in it."
