Aberdeen striker Duk fired out a title warning to Celtic despite their Cup drubbing at the hands of the Hoops, insisting: “we lost a battle but the WAR is not over.”

The Dons hitman was subbed at half-time in the 6-0 Premier Sports Cup semi final thrashing by Brendan Rodgers’ swashbuckling side. But despite the margin of the scoreline in what was Jimmy Thelin’s side’s first defeat of an incredible start to the season under the Swede, Duk is refusing to lose sight of the bigger picture.

The Dons are still level on points at the top of the Scottish Premiership with the three-in-a-row champions and can move to the summit on their own when they face Dundee at another sell-out Pittodrie, with Celtic in action 24 hours later when they face a tricky trip to Kilmarnock .Aberdeen were backed by a large travelling Red Army and Duk took to Instagram to said: “Proud to be a part of this team, we lost a battle but the war is not over. Thank you for the support. We go again Saturday.”
