E-Gals edge Lady Mustangs, 5-3

Arianna Ramirez went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI, while Macy Calhoun and Mallory Velotta both finished 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI as Apollo took a 5-3 softball win over Muhlenberg County on Friday in Greenville.

Liza Page and Emersyn Bullington each had hits for the E-Gals (11-9), and Mollie Julian earned the pitching win with two strikeouts and a walk in three scoreless innings.

Joshlynn Noe went 2-for-4 with two doubles for Muhlenberg County (16-6), Taylor Wilkins was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs, and Abigail Skaggs drove in two runs. Ella Watkins also added an RBI.

The Cougars rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh to capture a walk-off victory in Calhoun.

HB Whitaker went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for McLean County (16-8), while Layden Bozarth went 2-for-3 with a run. Connor Mitchuson, who plated three runs, opened the seventh with a walk and later scored on a fielder’s choice before Jax Lee’s RBI base hit tied the game. Corbin Martin scored from third on an error to seal the win.

Jackson Lee and Canon Jaggers each had two hits for Greenwood (19-5).
