Odin Thiago Holm's future at Celtic appears to be in doubt after the Norwegian midfielder was missing from the champions annual squad photo.

The 21-year-old joined the Hoops in a £2.6million deal from Valerenga in June 2023, but endured a tough debut campaign in Glasgow's East End, making just 16 appearances in all competitions - with only four of those outings coming from the start. The Norway U21 international has struggled to force his way into Brendan Rodgers' plans and has been restricted to three cameo appearances from the bench in the Premiership so far this season.

Holm - who was also omitted from Celtic's Champions League squad - faces an uphill battle to regain favour with the Irishman, and now might find himself completely frozen out of the first team picture, with the Norwegian playmaker the notable absentee from the 30-man strong team photo. Polish centre back Maik Nawrocki is another player on the fringes of the squad, but the former Legia Warsaw man did make the cut in the traditional snap.

Back in July, boss Rodgers brutally challenged Holm and fellow youngster Bosun Lawal to up his game in order to prove his worth at Parkhead. "They need to be a much higher level" , he said. "If you’re going to play for Celtic, you have to be. Odin needs to do more. There’s something there, though, absolutely.

"So I think the two boys (Holm and Lawal) that you mentioned have talent. But I want more. A lot more. Talent not just enough. You can play in teams, but not in our team."
