Eddie Howe gives Anthony Gordon injury update after Newcastle star's early exit
Eddie Howe has provided an update on England international Anthony Gordon but warned the England international must face further assessment.
The former Everton man went off with 10 minutes left in the 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground and sparked concern in the fanbase. Howe suggested the forward came off as a precaution during one of the high points of the season.
Howe, speaking after the 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest, said: "It looks like a similar problem he had the other week with his hip. We hope it is not serious. I don't know more at the moment. I'd say (he is a doubt for England) because he came off yes."

One player that will definitely miss the first game after the international break against West Ham will be Dan Burn who reached his fifth booking of the season. He will now serve a one-game ban with the Blyth lad exiting the team on the back of one of his best games of the campaign.
Howe said: "Tino took one in the face and it went unpunished and Dan paid the price for that. It will be a huge blow."
United now nudge their way back into the top half of the season but the Premier League race for glory is wide open this season and they sit just a point outside the top four. For all the talk of managing expectations and simply qualifying for Europe, everything, including the two domestic cups is up for grabs for Howe's squad.
Howe added: "The Premier League is really, really tight this season and you need consistent victories and it can really elevate you. Everyone is searching for a formula that guarantees them victories. We've looked much more like ourselves in the past few games. I still feel there is more to come and we can improve, and we've got room to improve."
