Eddie Howe makes Arsenal Premier League title promise as Liverpool handed clear Newcastle threat
Mikel Arteta has received a promise from Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe that the Magpies intend to go for it against Liverpool this week.

After beating Manchester City at Anfield, Liverpool now face back-to-back away games with a trip to Newcastle followed by a short trip to face Merseyside Derby rivals Everton.

It is a tough couple of games for Arne Slot's side, who will think they are well on their way to the Premier League title already if they can come through unscathed. Arsenal, however, will be looking for a slip up from the Reds as they attempt to make up ground on Slot's side.
Arsenal - level in the table with Chelsea - are the Reds' closest challengers, but are nine points behind Liverpool already, even at such an early stage of the season.
Mikel Arteta knows Liverpool will receive a rough ride from Everton in the Merseyside Derby, no matter how badly the Toffees are performing so far this season. But he has also been promised Newcastle will not be rolling over either.
However, Newcastle's plan could actually work against them when taking on Liverpool, given their attacking intent with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz.

Newcastle boss Howe said during his pre-match press conference: "We will always go to attack. I make no apologies for that. I would rather not be in a job than not fulfil that promise to the supporters. We want to entertain, ultimately."
Liverpool have the best defensive record in the Premier League so far this season, conceding just eight goals, but they have not scored that many, registering barely more than a goal a game. So while Howe may have promised Arteta his team will go at the Reds, it may not work out
