The eight players who didn't sign for Derby County and what happened next
The January transfer window is around the corner as Derby County plot what adjustments they can make after a solid start to life back in the Championship.
After being promoted from League One last season, Derby made 11 additions in total, landing Kenzo Goudmijn from AZ Alkmaar, Ben Osborn, Kayden Jackson, Jerry Yates, David Ozoh, Ebou Adams Rohan Luthra, and Jacob Widell-Zetterstrom.
There were also two additions on deadline day as Nat Phillips and Marcus Harness arrived from Liverpool and Ipswich to round off what was an extremely solid window. But what of the other players who have been linked to Derby and what happened next? Here is the list of players who were at the centre of major Rams speculation.

Mat Ryan
Linked with Derby after leaving AZ Alkmaar and the 32-year-old Australian international has since signed for Roma. Has yet to make an appearance since he put pen to paper, but has featured twice for his country.
Daniel Iversen
The Leicester City goalkeeper was on Derby's radar with Paul Warne having made him one of his targets. But the 26-year-old, who finished last season on loan at Stoke City, is still at the Foxes. Entering the last year of his contract and did not move from Leicester despite interest from Derby and Crystal Palace. Has not played one game this season.
Josh Windass
The striker was linked with a move to Derby earlier in the summer, but he has decided to remain at Sheffield Wednesday after signing a new contract with the Owls. Scored in the opening game of the season in a 4-0 win over Plymouth and bagged another two since.
Josh Murphy
Derby were keen on the winger who was a free agent at Oxford and so were a number of other Championship clubs, ranging from QPR to West Brom. But it was Portsmouth who won the battle to sign the winger, which was a result of his relationship with former Oxford team-mate John Mousinho. Made eight appearances so far after injury early on in the season, but is yet to score a goal.
Stefan Thordarson
The Rams were one of three clubs interested in the Iceland midfielder along with QPR and Preston. But it was the latter who won that particular battle as they paid a fee of around £700,000 to secure his services. Has made 13 appearances this season but is helping the Lilywhites climb the table.
Adama Sidibeh
The St Johnstone forward was another striker linked with Derby over the summer and Swansea were reported to have tabled a £500,000 offer that was rejected. Did not move on deadline day either. Has scored four goals this season but missed a chunk of the season in September.
Bosun Lawal
After a hugely impressive season-long loan at Fleetwood, Derby were named as one of several clubs that are interested in the midfielder who can also play centre-back, but Brendan Rodgers took a look at him this summer and decided to loan him to Stoke. Has been out injured and is yet to make his first appearance for the club.
Karamoko Dembele
The truth is that the Rams were never interested in the former Celtic man who moved to QPR on a loan deal with an option to buy. Has been their brightest spark in what has been a dreadful start to the season for the Hoops. Played in the game at Pride Park where the Rams won 2-0.
