Elie Youan had to be dragged away by a teammate after clashing with Hibs fans at Easter Road yesterday.

The Hibees crashed to yet another home defeat on Saturday as St Mirren inflicted more pain and misery on the Premiership's bottom boys by heading back to Paisley with a 2-1 win. It was a woeful day at the office for the crisis-hit club, with David Gray battling to save his job after just one win from 12.

Most punters flooded for the exits long before full-time but those who did stay vented their anger by booing Gray's flops off the park. However, tensions appeared to boil over as an emotional Youan was filmed arguing with fans behind the goal of the Famous Five Stand.

The forward was involved in a furious confrontation before he was eventually pulled away by teammate Rocky Bushiri. Jordan Obita then stepped in to escort the 25-year-old off the pitch and down the tunnel to cool down an ugly situation under-pressure Gray could do without.

Youan was linked with a summer exit from Hibs but stayed on for the new campaign. The ex-St Gallen man has one assist in six appearances this summer and still has 18 months left to run on his contract.
