What Elliot Anderson has already done at Nottingham Forest to repay £35m Newcastle United deal
Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo has hailed the performances of former Newcastle United midfielder Elliot Anderson after he made a strong start to his career at the City Ground.
The Geordie star impressed in Monday night's 1-0 win over Crystal Palace, with Forest claiming victory thanks to a goal for another ex-Magpie, Chris Wood. Anderson put in another impressive performance in the middle of the park for Forest who were missing suspended pair Morgan Gibbs-White and James Ward-Prowse.
The 21-year-old was unlucky not to score after he danced through several Palace defenders before being denied by keeper Dean Henderson and also saw two pinpoint crosses squandered by Wood. United reluctantly sold Anderson for £35m in the summer, along with Yankuba Minteh, as they looked to meet Premier League profit and sustainability rules.

And his new manager Nuno Espirito Santo only had good things to say about the England Under-21 international.
"He is versatile, in terms of midfield he can do that position in front of the two, he can play wide, he is playing in many positions for us," he said following the win over Palace, "Always good performances, the talent is there. You saw it and we are very happy with him.
"We are missing important players, James (Ward-Prowse) and injuries, the players who came in did a good job."
Newcastle have already come up against Anderson once already in the Carabao Cup second-round tie in August which saw United win on penalties after a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes. Eddie Howe's side travel again to the City Ground next month for the Premier League fixture on Sunday, November 10 (2pm).
