Evangelos Marinakis 'so impressed' he's considering big Nottingham Forest contract call
Evangelos Marinakis is considering rewarding Nuno Espirito Santo with an improved deal, according to a report.
Broadcasters talkSPORT claim the Nottingham Forest head coach could be given a ‘bumper new contract’ after guiding the Reds to five wins from their first ten Premier League matches so far this term.
Indeed, the Portuguese has steered Forest into the top three for the first time in 26 years, with the 3-0 victory over West Ham last weekend, just the latest in what has been a superb first quarter of the campaign.
The report claims Marinakis has been ‘so impressed’ by Nuno’s work that he wants to extend his terms with the club, having only brought him to the City Ground in December 2023.
Forest were 17th in the table and smarting from a wnless run under Steve Cooper at the time, with Nuno agreeing a deal which ran until 2026.
Nuno guided Forest to safety, despite a points deduction last season, and after a summer of considered recruitment has put together a team that is more than the sum of its parts. His win ratio is currently 32 per cent in all competitions, having posted 12 victories, a dozen draws and 13 defeats from his 37 games in charge.
Forest are also widely reported to be considering new deals for Ola Aina, whose current terms are up in the summer - and talismanic striker Chris Wood
