Chelsea cruised to a 3-0 win over West Ham United in the Saturday lunchtime fixture.

The Blues took a 2-0 lead early on in the game with Nicolas Jackson in clinical form in front of goal. Jackson then provided an assist for Cole Palmer in the second-half to wrap up what was a perfect afternoon for the visitors at the London Stadium.

Enzo Maresca was understandably delighted with what he witnessed from his players, who have a 100% record on the road in the Premier League this term. You can read every word the Blues head coach had to say below...

You must be delighted...

"Especially with the performance and the three points, that is the most important thing. Also, a clean sheet, so it has been a complete performance. We are very happy."

What is the key to the good start to the season?

"Many things, to be honest. It's probably the way the players are buying the idea and the different style. Since I arrived, that has been top. The way we are working off the ball.

"Today, the performance from Nicolas [Jackson] and Cole [Palmer] was top; not only because they scored but we prepared the game expecting three against two because they build with three players and we expect that. The way they work off the ball has been top. If we understand that we need that and with the desire, we can probably build something important."

How good was the timing with both of the co-owners here? Have they come down to the dressing room?

"I think not only today. It's always good when we win games for them. As you said, because they were both here, we can give them some good moments.

"They were in the changing room, they were all happy. The result and the points are always important in our business. For me, the main target in this moment is to see how we progress as a team.

"We are improving many things. Today, we could attack better and we could defend better but especially we can manage the game much, much better. Sometimes we need to give more passes and keep the ball but we are in a rush and trying to attack immediately. Overall, we deserved to win the game."

How is Wesley Fofana?

"No, no, no [it's not serious]. The reason why we changed him is because we try to protect him a little bit. In the second-half, they changed Kudus to this side and it was probably a big risk to keep him but there is not any injury.

"Wes is a player I really love and we love with Wes because he is doing fantastic after one year of injury. For any player that is out for a year, it is not easy and he is doing top. This is the only thing we want from him."

Did you see Jackson's Michael Jackson-inspired goal celebration?

"I didn't see, to be honest. After the first? Hopefully he can dance some more."

How good for him to get those two goals?

"Fantastic. In terms of numbers, goals and assists since I arrived, he is doing well. Off the ball, he is working hard. If a player misses one or two chances, it doesn't mean he is not playing well. It can happen. All players miss chances.

"What is important is the complete performance. Against Bournemouth, it was a good performance and then in the last 10 minutes we changed something; Christo [Nkunku] was inside and was top. This is what we expect from all of them."

Are you a Michael Jackson fan yourself?

"For sure [laughs]."

Did the owners come before or after the match?

"They were happy after the match. Before the game, no because we are preparing. But after the game, both of them were happy."

Are the squad starting to gel?

"I think we are on the right path, the right direction. But this is a long journey. Because we won today and we are in a good moment, it looks like everything is fine but not everything is fine.

"We could attack better, we could defend better, but it is just a matter of time. The most important thing is how the players buy [into the idea] since we have worked together."
