Former Ipswich Town forward Brett Pitman has returned to non-league side AFC Portchester.

The prolific 36-year-old spent the 2022-23 season at the Wicor Recreation Ground, where he bagged an impressive 50 goals in all competitions.

Pitman started this campaign with Baffins Milton Rovers in the Wessex Premier Division, where he scored 18 goals in 20 games but left last month.

He then re-signed for Shaftesbury on a dual-registration basis, having scored a mind-blowing 62 goals for them last season as he helped them to promotion. He will remain registered with the Dorset side while he plays for Portchester.

The Jersey-born Pitman made his second debut for Portchy last weekend as they beat Fareham Town 3-1 at home to extend their lead at the top of the ninth tier table.

In total, he scored 15 goals in 70 games for the Blues during his two season at Portman Road. He was the club's top scorer with 11 in the 2015/16 campaign.

Since he departed the Blues, he has had spells at Portsmouth, Swindon Town, Bristol Rovers and Eastleigh (loan), before dropping into non-league.
