Fabian Hurzeler reveals difference between Premier League and Bundesliga
Fabian Hurzeler has revealed the differences between the Premier League and Bundesliga.
The manager has seemingly taken to English football like a duck to water, having led Albion to compete for the European spots.
Hurzeler was the manager of FC St. Pauli and was accustomed to the passionate support of the famed cult fans.
He has claimed the fan atmosphere is one of the biggest differences between the two leagues with German fans singing more while English supporters are more "action" driven.
He said: “First of all it's more the supporters, in Germany they sing more.
“I think they sing more during the game here.
"It's more, action behaviour from the crowd, and it can be really, really loud, but it can also be a little bit silent, you in the game."
Hurzeler also admitted that the intensity of the Premier League is much higher than its German counterpart.
He also pointed to the competitiveness throughout the division from teams from the top right to the bottom of the table.
He added: “The second thing is like the intensity is very high here.
“The physical demands from the game, uh, are very high here, I think higher than in Germany and on top of that, I like the quality from all the other coaches.
“So they really know what to do.
"They really know how to play. Every weekend is a challenge. Every weekend you have to be very well prepared.
“Otherwise, you get punished by the opponent and it's already demanding and very competitive.
“So, like I said last weekend and we play against the last from the table, but they still have good ideas.
“They still come to our stadium and try to win and the gap is not that big and that's why, like I said, this league is competitive.”
