Owning Eden Hazard comes with a premium cost attached, he has registered attacking returns in two of his last six Premier League games: does this justify occupying a spot in your Yahoo Daily Fantasy XI when Chelsea entertain Leicester at the Bridge ?

At his price (£25), he has to return a goal to be worth buying as his floor has been low in recent weeks, with just one score greater than 10 in six league games. But I still prefer him to Alvaro Morata this weekend.

For me there’s better value elsewhere. He’ll continue to produce returns in Yahoo Daily Fantasy but I’m not convinced he’s worth his premium price tag, especially against a strong Leicester team.

He will no doubt prove me wrong but I wouldn’t. Claude Puel has definitely tightened things up at the back for the Foxes and they should be pretty confident. Morata is bang out of form so where is Hazard going to score points from? Assists will be minimal and he’s hardly in a patch of good goal scoring form himself. I’d spend the money elsewhere.

Riyad Mahrez’s sparkling recent form shows no signs of slowing, he has delivered attacking returns in eight of his last nine games, can he continue this staggering form away to Chelsea?

Chelsea currently have the best defensive record in the league since Kante’s return in terms of goals conceded (six in 12) and second in terms of shots conceded (89) and shots conceded inside the box (48). So I’m not backing Mahrez at his price (£22) to return at Stamford Bridge.

Mahrez has been very impressive, back to the kind of form which helped Leicester to the Premier League title in 2016. However, I’d advise caution as away at Stamford Bridge is not ideal when picking a fantasy player, especially in a daily format such as Yahoo Daily Fantasy.

No reason to think not. Everything I’ve just said about Hazard can be reversed for Mahrez pretty much. Despite it being an away game, Leicester are devastating on the counter attack and if Chelsea commit too many players forward they could get caught out. Alonso has been playing so high up top in the second half of games I suspect Leicester will try and exploit that.

Which defenders this week offer the best chance of both a clean sheet and an attacking return?

Marcos Alonso has had the 22nd most shots out of any player in the league this season and has nearly double the amount of shots of Nicolas Otamendi (43 to 23), whose in second. The most prolific defender playing for the best defence. Has to be Alonso.

Marcos Alonso is the stand out option going forward each week but I can see Leicester knicking one at the Bridge, so, I’m going for a left-field choice; Newcastle’s Ciaran Clark. He has two league goals this season and should have made it three after missing an open goal against Stoke. Newcastle play a toothless Swansea at St James’s Park too, so a strong chance of a clean sheet.

Believe it or not after a disappointing showing in the double Gameweek, I suspect it’s West Ham who could do some damage from the back. Masuaka is looking better and better and attacking returns should come sooner rather than later – and what better place than away at Huddersfield? Worthy mentions too for Manchester United defenders. A clean sheet is a virtual guarantee at home to Stoke and maybe an assist thrown in too from the likes of Luke Shaw?

Arsenal have won one of their last five games in all competitions, but they have scored 11 goals: which, if any, of their attackers would you consider for your Yahoo Daily Fantasy 11 as they travel to Bournemouth this week?

Arsenal have scored at least two goals every time they have met since the Cherries entered the Premier League. Aaron Ramsey is in contention to return for Arsenal which will help all the attacking options.

Alexandre Lacazette has looked fairly lively but he hasn’t scored in the league since Man United visited the Emirates at the start of December. I’d avoid all Arsenal players personally

Ozil. And only Ozil. The transfer speculation surrounding Sanchez means his head isn’t there, Lacazette seems devoid of confidence, Wilshere & Ramsey are injured (surprise!) and Iwobi will probably go out clubbing again the night before.

The mighty Manchester City go to Anfield for the game of the weekend, who are your standout picks for this fixture?

Aguero has never scored at Anfield in five attempts surprisingly. I think Raheem Sterling could score on his return to Merseyside and Mohamed Salah is always good for a goal (or two) in any game.

Aguero and Sterling for City, Salah for Liverpool. Obvious picks, but I expect both teams to score, with these three featuring with goals and or assists.

Not Man City players. Liverpool should be the team to break this unbeaten run. They’re solid at Anfield and now Coutinho has gone there shouldn’t be any distractions. I suspect Sadio Mane will be the main man this weekend.

In Yahoo Daily Fantasy, goalkeepers are awarded four points for their team winning and two for a draw – six additional points are awarded for a clean sheet and they earn 1.5 extra points per save: which keeper will rack up the most points this week?

David de Gea is the easy option for a solid base of points. But if you’re strapped for cash, West Brom and Brighton looks set for a 0-0, with West Brom failing to score more than one in eight games and Brighton failing to score in five of their last seven games.

De Gea (and Darlow, but I’ve spoken about Newcastle defensively already). David De Gea plays Stoke at Old Trafford so I’m expecting he’ll get four for the win, six for a clean sheet and maybe a few saves to boot which should see him score around 13 to 16 points

Gomes or Foster would get my vote. Watford and West Brom face Saints and Brighton at home respectively. Both away teams will show some attacking intent, but they’re not that good. I think they will both be home wins, probably with a clean sheet and with both keepers racking up some save points into the bargain.

Which premium fantasy asset will deliver a flop performance in Gameweek 23?

Considering Aguero has never scored at Anfield and Liverpool have the best home record this year, I’m saying Aguero fails to score again there.

Sanchez – linked with City and doesn’t look the same player as last season in an Arsenal shirt. Avoid.

Harry Kane. It was nuts to start him in the FA Cup against AFC Wimbledon, and Everton under Allardyce are much tighter. I don’t see Kane getting much joy against a stubborn Toffees side.

Yahoo Daily Fantasy awards points for tackles, shots on target and successful crosses, which player(s) from the Huddersfield V West Ham fixture will deliver an all action performance right across the pitch?

Marko Arnautovic has scored five in his last six games and assisted in another. He’s in red-hot form now that Moyes lets him roam free and he is not pinned to the wing.

Andy Carroll if he plays. He loves a battle and with his confidence high off the back of his recent brace vs West Brom, he should get a few shots on target too. Not sure how many crosses he’ll swing in though as Moyes (and the West Ham faithful) will want him on the end of them!

Lanzini. I like the way this guy plays. He seems involved in everything so I think this will continue. He has an eye for a killer pass and isn’t bad at scoring himself, despite only grabbing one so far this season.

With an attractive looking home fixture to misfiring Swansea this weekend, would you consider doubling or even tripling up on Newcastle defence as a differential play?

I would consider it if all the defender were priced £13 or lower or if they had one or two for the minimum £10 but I don’t think Clark or Jamaal Lascelles offer enough to spend £14 on.

Ballsy option, I love it! I was tipping the Newcastle defence in the earlier questions and the “All eggs in one basket” approach is risky, but, if it comes off a very strong score will be all but guaranteed.

Fabianski might get some save points, but I would avoid any Swans players like the plague. They’re doomed. Newcastle on the other hand keep it tight at home under Rafa so this could prove a risk worth taking.

After Harry Kane’s infamous blank double Gameweek, should daily fantasy players restore faith and welcome Kane back to their startling line up for the home fixture to Everton?

H

arry Kane does blank more often that we would like but he is still the highest scoring player in the league. Even when he does blank he is still firing off shots so I think he’s the best option week in and out.

Yes. Harry Kane is Harry Kane, he’s always a good option against any opponent and Everton have conceded 4 in their last 2 league appearances (against Bournemouth and Man United) so there’s no reason why Kane can’t score well against Big Sam’s men.

See above. No
