'It feels different' - Jamie Carragher sends Arsenal encouraging Premier League title message

Leandro Trossard of Arsenal celebrates scoring the second goal with Declan Rice during the Premier League match between Arsenal FC and AFC Bournemouth at Emirates Stadium on May 4, 2024 in London, England.

Jamie Carragher has issued a fresh Premier League verdict following Arsenal's win against Bournemouth at Emirates Stadium. The Gunners put three past their visitors with Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard and Declan Rice all on target in a dominant victory that saw their goal difference increase to 60.

Another three points also took Arsenal four clear of Manchester City but that gap will likely return to one following their clash against Wolves on Saturday evening. With just a few weeks remaining of the season, Arteta was asked for his latest title race thoughts.

"Very excited," he buoyantly told reporters. "We've done it for nine and a half months now. There's two weeks to go, we really want to get it done. We're closer than we were yesterday and hopefully, we can bring the title here." Like Arteta, Carragher has provided his own fresh title race verdict with one phrase about Arsenal certainly telling.

Asked on Sky Sports if Man City will be feeling the nerves after Arsenal's win, he said: "I don't think so really, you could imagine if it was Arsenal, but it feels different at Arsenal after watching them earlier.

"A convincing performance and it doesn't feel the same [at Arsenal] as last season but I don't think City get nervous, the results tell you that and not just this season but also seasons gone by." Carragher referencing the difference between now and last season's title race is certainly interesting given how the Gunners crumbled as the battle intensified.

Defeats to Bayern Munich and Aston Villa last month saw fears of another blip emerge, however, Arsenal have emphatically answered those concerns. Victories against Wolves, Chelsea, Tottenham and now Bournemouth have arrived with Arsenal scoring 13 and conceding just two.
