Arsenal and Chelsea rounded off a perfect weekend for Liverpool as they shared the points in Sunday's Premier League showdown at Stamford Bridge.

The Gunners opened the scoring in West London but could not hold onto their lead, as Pedro Neto's strike from distance earned a point for the home side.

Liverpool is pretty far ahead of both clubs in the league table, but the season is still in its infancy and Arne Slot will welcome seeing rival teams drop points at any point during the season.

The Reds continued their incredible start to the campaign on Saturday night as goals from Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah secured a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa.

Liverpool went into that game knowing that a victory would open up a five-point lead over Manchester City after Pep Guardiola's men were beaten 2-1 by Brighton at the AMEX Stadium.

As well as Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City and Aston Villa dropping points, Nottingham Forest, which started the weekend in third place in the league, was beaten 3-1 by Newcastle.

And Tottenham, which started the weekend in seventh place, also tasted defeat, handing Ipswich its first Premier League win of the season.

The early season struggles of Liverpool's rivals have seen belief among supporters rise that Liverpool could end the season with a second Premier League trophy in six seasons.

Head coach Slot, however, is keeping his feet firmly on the ground. Speaking after the win against Villa, he said: "If you win, it mostly doesn’t get better than that and yeah, you know if you win the amount of games we do, you can be ahead [in the league table]. It’s not sure yet in this league because Arsenal, City, Chelsea, all these clubs that are playing in this league, they are able to win so many games as well and that’s what they have shown in the last few seasons. So, we are only focused on ourselves and then a win against a very good team like Villa, who have done so well in the last few years, is always important."
