Five promising up-and-coming Worcestershire teenagers have made the England Golf Regional Squad.

The squad, announced by England Golf for the 2024/25 season, is part of the Regional Coaching Programme.

This programme is designed to help young players transition from county talent programmes to the national squads.

The aim is to nurture the next generation of players who will compete at national and international levels for England.

The focus is on five performance pillars, with a combination of individual and squad coaching, competitive matches, and strength and conditioning support.

The coaching teams at England Golf aim to create a fun, supportive, and competitive environment for the players to thrive and develop new skills.

The Worcestershire teenagers who made the cut include Maisie Whittall and Amelia Bryan from Gaudet Luce, Harry Evans from Worcester, Oliver Badger from Hagley, and George Stephens from Droitwich.

They will be part of the West Midlands region squad.

England Golf's deputy performance director, Steve Burnett, said: "England Golf’s Talent Pathway brings together all facets of the game at every level to help our young players enjoy golf and become the best they want to be.

"This system has helped produce a large number of world-class male and female golfers while creating life-long affiliations with the game."

Mr Burnett added: "We aim to support a strong, aligned and inclusive performance pathway from club to national level, in order to identify, recruit, develop, support and retain world-class golfers capable of performing and winning at the highest levels of amateur golf.

"At every level of the pathway we aim to provide fun, engaging and individualised opportunities to help the player as a person and a golfer."
