Celtic have confirmed Adam Montgomery and Joey Dawson have both signed new one-year deals.

Academy graduate Montgomery has made 20 appearances for the Hoops since breaking into the senior side three years ago. However, the versatile left-back hasn't featured for Celts since December 2021, spending the last couple of seasons out on loan with Aberdeen and St Johnstone.

The 21-year-old was reunited with Scott Brown at Fleetwood Town last summer but his time with the Cod Army was cut short due to injury. He joined Motherwell on loan in January but suffered a serious hamstring injury that ruled him out for the remainder of the campaign.

Montgomery, though, remains highly-rated at Parkhead and the talented youngster has put pen to paper on a deal that will extend his stay until June 2027.

Former Scunthorpe United striker Joey Dawson has also agreed an extension until June 2025 having been a consistent presence for the B team side. He netted 20 goals in 21 Lowland League matches last season before undergoing surgery on a serious knee injury that ruled him out long-term.

Dawson, 20, also made his senior debut under Ange Postecoglou as he came off the bench in a 3-1 win against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park on Boxing Day 2021.
