Frank Lampard delivered Coventry City snub as Doug King pointed towards new man
Doug King has been urged to launch a raid on Luton Town for Rob Edwards.
King is set to make his first head coach appointment since becoming Coventry City owner, having sacked Mark Robins last week. He has confirmed former Chelsea and Everton boss Frank Lampard has applied for the job, but Sky Blues fan and BeINSPORTS presenter Richard Keys believes Edwards is the right man for the club.
Edwards broke Coventry hearts when he led Luton to victory over Robins’ team in the Championship play-offs final at Wembley last year - and into the Premier League. But his future at Kenilworth Road is currently under the spotlight because, after an immediate relegation back to the Championship, the Hatters are down in 21st place in the table so far this season.

Keys have criticised King’s decision to axe Robins, but turning his attention towards his successor he pointed the Coventry owner towards Edwards over Lampard.
“I’d go for Rob Edwards and Matt Bloomfield is clearly doing something right at Wycombe - but why replace the best Championship manager with one of the best in League One?” he wrote in his blog.
