Frank Lampard spots Coventry City 'issue' as he tells players 'only way' out of it
Frank Lampard has suggested Coventry City may have a “confidence issue”.
The Sky Blues wasted several good chances in front of goal as they suffered defeat for the first time under their new boss, losing 2-0 against West Brom in the Championship on Wednesday night. Victor Torp glaringly had the goal at his mercy when he headed wide and striker Norman Bassette failed to pull the trigger on a shot in a good position inside the penalty area.
Lampard was left rueing those - and more - missed chances at The Hawthorns, as he said: “Throughout we were a threat, and they will know that.

"West Brom are a strong team in the league and their position says so, they’ve been working together for a while and we’ve been working for a short time, but there were some good bits and it’s important we take them out of the game and stay positive when it’s game, game, game coming up.
"We will look at where we can improve, but the reality of football is you need to be clinical when you have those chances.
"Is it a confidence issue, I don’t know, but the only way I know to fight through that is keep working and doing the right things and, on another day, we take those chances.”
