The Friedkin Group have got themselves into a pickle at Roma. Now in their attempts to fix the Serie A giants, the prospective new Everton owners are seemingly leaving no stone unturned.

At the weekend, Ivan Juric was sacked after a 3-2 defeat at home to Bologna. He follows previous permanent managers Jose Mourinho and Danielle De Rossi out of the Stadio Olimpico in the last 11 months.

According to reports, Dan Friedkin called Juric immediately after the Bologna loss to let him know of his dismissal, meaning the coach didn't even have chance to get back into the dressing room. The result leaves Roma down in 12th in the Italian top flight.

While some Evertonians will scoff at the position being considered a crisis, tensions are high at the Italian club and supporters are unhappy. Italian media over the weekend described the circus as the 'funeral of Roma' in a dramatic assessment of events.

The clean-up operation has now started and according to Corriere della Serra (h/t Sport Witness) they will turn to Ed Shiple for guidance. The report describes him as a 'Tarantino-esque figure' and an expert in human relations, although it is noted he has no background in football.

The description is in reference to American filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, who is considered one of the most influential directors of his generation.

Shiple is said to be completing a report on the mire the club has been plunged into having previously worked with Roma on matters relating to non-playing staff, supporter relations and the stadium.

Despite early links to Frank Lampard, former Italy, Manchester City and Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini is currently the front-runner to succeed Juric.

The Friedkin Group have agreed a deal in principle to purchase Everton from Farhad Moshiri subject to ratification from the Premier League, the Football Association and the Financial Conduct Authority.
