Gareth Henderby in Rangers academy director 'frame' as fans spot social media clue

Gareth Henderby is one of the name being considered by Rangers for their new academy director, according to a report.

The Scottish coach has most recently headed up the academy at Nordsjaelland in Denmark and landed that gig after working as technical director with the Right to Dream academy in Ghana, which has close links to the Danish club and has produced a converyer belt of talent for them. Mohamed Diomande followed that path before signing for Rangers in January.

Scottish journalist Scott Burns is now reporting he is in the frame to replace Zeb Jacobs at Auchenhowie. He said: Gareth Henderby is one of the names under consideration to become the new academy director at Rangers. Has had major roles at Nordsjaelland and with the Right to Dream academies. Helped to develop some major talent."

And Gers supporters reckon they may have spotted a club which suggests a move is on the cards. Henderby posted a photo at Ibrox on April 7, the day the Light Blues drew 3-3 with Celtic, and wrote: "Ready."

Fans have picked up on the month old tweet and one replied: "Up the road big man." Another added: "Get yourself back mate."

The position is vacant with Jacobs headhunted by Feyenoord after just a year at the Ibrox club.
