Gary Lineker's net worth, Match of the Day presenter's family life and 'feud' with brother Wayne
Gary Lineker is set to depart Match of the Day after a decision was made not to renew his contract with the BBC.
Lineker is expected to be stepping down from the iconic Premier League highlights show at the end of the current season. The Sun understands the 63-year-old will be returning to the corporation to front their coverage of the World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico before departing for good.
Mark Chapman, Gabby Logan and Alex Scott are the favourites to replace Lineker on the Saturday night show but no replacement has yet been confirmed. MEN Sport has taken a closer at Lineker's life away from Match of the Day as he prepares for the next chapter of his career.

Net worth
Having been a mainstay on the BBC for so long, Lineker is currently one of the broadcaster's highest paid talents. In the 2023/24 accounting period, Lineker topped the list of on-air personality wages earning somewhere between £1,350,000 and £1,354,999.
He is also the face of Walkers Crisps in the UK and has recently ventured into the podcasting sphere setting up Goalhanger Podcasts. They are responsible for The Rest is... series of podcasts which includes The Rest is Football where he appears alongside Alan Shearer and Micah Richards.
With plenty of different revenue streams, it is no surprise that Lineker has a vast net worth valued at approximately £27.3m by Celebrity Net Worth.
Family life
Lineker was married to his first wife Michelle Cockayne in 1986 and they share four sons together - George, 31, Harry, 30, Tobias, 28, and Angus, 26. Cockayne filed for divorce in May 2006, citing 'unreasonable behaviour' from her husband.
After Cockayne, Lineker started seeing actress and model Danielle Bux. He remarried in 2009 but they divorced in 2016 following a difference of opinion regarding the couple having children.
Lineker and Bux remain amicable with the latter now married to American entertainment lawyer Nate Greenwald.
Brother 'feud'
His relationship with brother Wayne Lineker is less warm though. The pair have been estranged for approximately 16 years after Wayne boycotted Lineker's wedding to Bux as his then-girlfriend Ana Tanaka was not invited to the ceremony.
Lineker's brother was of the opinion in 2015 that his relationship with the Match of the Day presenter broke down because he did not get on with Bux. In 2017, the Ibiza promoter shared that he was now talking with his brother again but their relationship was not how it once was.
The Daily Express reported at the weekend that Wayne had made an appeal to his brother on social media to reconcile their relationship. "The universe works in mysterious ways," he wrote alongside pictures unearthed from his childhood.
"55 years ago I used to go to Kenwood Road outdoor pool with my mum, dad and brother Gary every week during the summer holidays... built on this land by developers were houses - our parents purchased one and Gary and I grew up there until we were adults. The number of the house on Kenwood Road was 10, the very same number my bro wore on his England shirt throughout his 80 international games.
"Gary and I share the most incredible memories in that house, two brothers rarely leaving each others side.. one of my favourite memories of us is both clearing the lounge every Saturday of furniture when mum and dad were out making a goal each end just to play one on one football for hours...
"I know for a fact that they will be looking down on us with one wish. That would be to become proper brothers again. #lifeistooshort."
Life after Match of the Day
With his time at Match of the Day coming to an end, there will be speculation as to what Lineker will do with his time. Most of his time will likely be devoted to Goalhanger Podcasts and there is no suggestion at this stage that he will take a backseat from hosting The Rest is Football.
When Lineker left BT Sport's coverage of the Champions League, the presenter explained that he was wanting to take a step back to follow his beloved Leicester City in Europe with his sons. The Foxes find themselves outside European competition at present but watching the East Midlands club could be on the radar for Lineker.
