Gary Neville and Roy Keane share same view on Liverpool vs Aston Villa prediction
Gary Neville and Roy Keane are backing the Reds in their highly anticipated faceoff with Aston Villa.
On the latest episode of ‘Stick to Football,’ the pair of pundits shared their predictions for the Saturday night matchup at Anfield. Speaking first, Neville argued that Aston Villa’s recent stretch of losses could hinder their confidence entering the game against Liverpool.
“I was surprised that Villa got beat by Tottenham. I will go for 2-0 Liverpool,” he said.

Over the weekend, Aston Villa was handed just its second Premier League loss this season via a disheartening 4-1 defeat to Tottenham. Despite entering halftime down a goal, the Spurs came firing out of the gates in the second half - netting the equalizer in the 49th minute en route to scoring four unanswered.
On the heels of the loss, Aston Villa suffered yet another crushing blow after falling to Club Brugge, 1-0, in the Champions League. A bizarre handball courtesy of Tyrone Mings set the stage for the deciding goal, which came off the foot of captain Hans Vanaken.
Following the second consecutive loss, Aston Villa boss Unai Emery asserted that intensity and effort were not to blame for his team’s defeats. "The first half we played like we were planning... It was a mistake," he told reporters during a post-game press conference.
"It is difficult and here it is not strange. You watched the match and [Villa] playing, they finished exhausted. It was not intensity, it was that the match changed completely after our mistake."
Liverpool, meanwhile, is riding high following back-to-back wins on home turf. On Saturday, The Reds secured a thrilling come from behind win over Brighton, thereby placing them atop the Premier league rankings.
The strong showing was then followed up with a 4-0 blowout against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League, which further showcased Liverpool’s dominance at Anfield this season.

Keane believes that The Reds’ good fortunes at home will continue on Saturday, predicting a 2-1 win over Aston Villa. “Liverpool all day lads,” he declared.
While Liverpool has won 14 of its 16 matches played under Arne Slot, The Reds boss conceded that the shining record doesn’t tell the whole story. "You only look at results. Brighton was a difficult one on Saturday where we were 1-0 behind and had to fight really hard and that is what you saw," he told the Independent.
"We have to work really hard with incredibly high intensity to win our games and that has a lot to do with teams who think Anfield is the best place to play, so every team we play against is at the top of their game. If you want to win you always have to be consistent in your intensity."
