'Girther' conspiracy theorists compared President Trump to athletes of similar size
Very rarely does this current White House allow for a lighthearted moment. Fortunately, amid all the cacophony and controversy, today was one of those days. Savor it.
As part of President Donald Trump’s annual physical, White House physician Dr. Ronny Jackson disclosed the president weighed in at 239 pounds. At his current height and BMI, the president is one pound away from being officially obese. However, large segments of American society collectively shouted, “We don’t believe you!” In a matter of minutes, a ‘girther’ movement had arisen which doubted the veracity of the president’s weight.
Most observers expected the results of the physical to reveal that Trump had ballooned to well over 300 pounds due to his slothful habits, the revelation that he eats cheeseburgers in bed, his sedentary lifestyle, the stress of the presidency and his oddball belief that exercise is a drain on our life energy. Many have speculated that his 239-pound listing was trimmed to appease his ego. To prove their point, Twitter users used images of athletes with similar measurements.
Donald Trump is roughly the same height and weight as Kam Chancellor and they have the same physique, this is just science pic.twitter.com/PIkCJYZnW8

Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback Dak Prescott is 6’2″ and weighs 229 pounds. According to Dr. Jackson, trump is approximately the same height and weighs 239 pounds – just 10 pounds more than Dak. I have eyes, can see for myself, and muscles weigh more than fat. So yeah . . . right. pic.twitter.com/WRp6FxeZ5I

According to the White House, Trump (6’3″, 239 lbs) is almost exactly the same height and weight as this Olympic athlete (Cyrille Maret – 6’3″, 238 lbs) pic.twitter.com/4sPzcQeaLa

There’s an irony to Americans doubting Trump’s weight considering his role in propagating the birther conspiracy theories of his predecessor’s birth certificate, but this is the age we live in. In this era of alternative facts, nobody seems to know what to believe.
However, the girther movement may have as much truth to it as the birther movement it spun off of. This may be an instance of the doctor being truthful and highlights the difference between the density of muscle vs. fat. Athletes are typically paragons of fitness — except for major league pitchers. Trump is a 72-year-old with a belly full of undigested trans fats and bread.
The real story here is that “The Simpsons” once again predicted the future.
I know where trump’s Doctor pulled the weight of 239lbs from!!! #trumphealth #trump #maga #trumpphysical #RonnyJackson #trumpweight #trumpisfat pic.twitter.com/UQ82zW04ho
