'Good luck with that' - Roy Keane and Gary Neville clash already over Ruben Amorim at Man United
Two former Manchester United captains, Roy Keane and Gary Neville, have disagreed on whether Ruben Amorim will be given enough time to turn the club's fortunes around due to the length of his contract.
United owners Ineos spent little time searching for Erik ten Hag's replacement - having approached Sporting CP's head coach immediately after the Dutchman left. By Friday, Amorim had officially been unveiled by United and he will be starting his new job on Monday, November 11.
Amorim signed a contract with United until June 2027 with a further year available for United to activate, should they wish to. Discussing the task at hand for the Portuguese, once he arrives, Neville stressed that Amorim needs time - but Keane remains unconvinced he will be allowed it.

"It took (Jurgen) Klopp four or five years, it might take Ruben Amorim four or five years to succeed," Neville began. "But you have got to have something [success] to hang your hat on."
"You won't get that, he won't get three or four years. He has only signed a two-and-a-half year deal, the manager," his former teammate and now Sky Sports punditry colleague, Keane, retorted.
Neville went on: "They are going to give him some time, you would imagine, and I wouldn't let him sign anyone in the transfer window. I would say look, let's see what these players can do for you for the next eight months."
While Neville is confident Ineos will be patient with Amorim - as he looks to turn things around at Old Trafford - it was Keane who had the last word on the matter. "They say a type. They go after this manager, say he's going to be the one and the agreement, whatever, they give him a two-and-a-half-year deal," an exasperated Keane concluded.
"Or maybe that's what he wanted, but two-and-a-half years? Good luck with that."
